Tim Armato: Fundamentals of Interactive Design: Dreamweaver Sites

In Dreamweaver, with no documents open:

1) Make sure the Files pallet is open (Window>Files)

2) Click the blue Manage Sites link

3) Click the New... button
            -choose Site, not FTP & RDS

4) a) Give your site a name
            -it helps to name it the same as the folder that contains your class files (e.g. lastnameFID)
     b) Click Next>

6) a) Choose No Server Technology,
    b) Click Next>

7) a) Choose Edit local...
    b) Click the blue folder icon and navigate to the folder that contains your public_html and work_files sub-folders (e.g. lastnameFID)
    c) Click the Choose button
    d) Click Next>

8) a) Change Local/Network to None
    b) Click Next>

9) Click Done

10) Click Export, and save it to the same folder that you selected in step 7b

11) Click Done again.

You will now have a .ste file. Keep this file with your web site files. Next time you sit down at a different computer to work on your site, you can use DreamweaverÕs Site Manager to import this site definition file. That way you won't have to go through all of the above steps again.
